Academic Advising

The Academic Advising office at Northwest Vista College is committed to providing quality academic advising services and information about available resources to support students in achieving their desired goal. We will guide students towards completion of a certificate and/or Associate degree and support their transition to a four year institution or the workforce.

Academic Calendar

Students can use Northwest Vista College's Academic Calendar to find information on dates and deadlines for registration, spring/winter breaks, last day to drop classes, final exams, holidays, and more.


Northwest Vista College's bookstore is located conveniently in the CCC building and offers students a one-stop shop for textbooks, supplies, and technology needed for the various classes at Northwest Vista. You can also shop online!

Career and Transfer Services

Northwest Vista College Career and Transfer Services (CaTS) provides resources, guidance, and assistance with career exploration, career planning, academic advising, job preparation, and more.

Connect 2 Compete

The Alamo Colleges is working with Connect2Compete, a national nonprofit, to provide students and employees low-cost computers and free or low cost Internet service, along with the hardware and the digital skills to effectively and safely use the Internet. Depending on home location, you may qualify for fast free service or a discounted high-speed Internet data plan. Low-cost computers are also being offered.

Disability Support Services (Access Office)

Northwest Vista College is dedicated to creating opportunities for success for many different kinds of students. Some students may have disabilities that interfere with their ability to succeed in the classroom. The Access office offers services to help level the playing field and create opportunities for success for students with disabilities. Please call 210-486-4466 for information.


The Northwest Vista College Library supports the mission of the college by providing a comprehensive information literacy program that teaches students research skills for lifelong learning. As well as a diverse print and online collection that enhances the curriculum of the college and a quality environment that is conducive to studying and learning.

Student Handbook

The Student Handbook has been designed as a user-friendly resource to answer the most frequently asked questions students have about services, programs, expectations and procedures. It is intended to help you successfully transition to college life and become fully engaged in your college educational experience. The Student Handbook is meant to complement the academic catalog, not to replace it.

Information & Communication Technologies

The Information and Communication Technologies department services the technology needs of the Northwest Vista College. The Information and Communication Technologies department provide technology solutions and support for our students, faculty, staff and community.

Canvas Quick Guide

The Canvas Quick Guide is for students who have not taken online courses previously and need to learn how to use the Learning Management System (LMS). The goal of this guide is to familiarize you with the Canvas environment.

Friday: Closed


Appointments are not available the same day, they must be scheduled a minimum of 24 hours in advance.
